Birch Hill Lodge

Birch Hill Lodge is a three acre site located 40 minutes easy drive north of Christchurch on the Loburn – Ashley Gorge Road. It is nestled at the base of the Mount Thomas Forest, on the start of The Blowhard Track, with good well-appointed buildings, its own reserve of native bush, and a large open space of grass. Birch Hill Lodge is an idyllic location for groups who want to explore the outdoors as it is based on the edge of the Mount Thomas Forest, at the start of the Blowhard Track.

Below are a few suggestions for activities.

• 3 metre high climbing tower and fittness circuit
• Canoeing down the Ashley River.
• Experience the outdoors and learn new crafts.
• Tramp the bush walks and learn good tramping skills.
• Learn of the different types of wildlife in the area.
• Study the Native Beech Forest and plants in the area.
• Experience Tent Camping in a sheltered Native bush environment.
