Facilities @ Waipara Riverside Park

Waipara can be hired as a complete complex or in two separate sections, Main buildings and Tui Lodge.

Main Camp Site

Situated on the upper terrace is the main camp site consists of three building. The first (Main building) features a large well equipped kitchen, separate dining hall, large meeting/recreation hall with stage seating for 120+ and bunk rooms (sleep 51 in 6 rooms). The second building (Training centre) has a small kitchen, two meeting rooms, bunk rooms (sleep 44 in 12 rooms) and disabled facilities. And the third (Memorial Unit) a self contained unit with own kitchen, sleeps six, toilet and shower. Also on the upper terrace behind the main building is a large playing field with a water slide.

Tui Lodge Site

Tui Lodge Camping area has 36 caravan points and many sheltered tent sites. There are two buildings on the site, one contains a well equipped kitchen, large room suitable for dining, meetings and activities. The second building contains toilets, showers and a large carpeted room with blackboards, lounge chairs and tv. Relax in the shaded concrete forecourt while watching children play on the playground equipment and trampoline near by.

Other Features at Waipara

At the east end of the site use a large manicured lawn for your own unique activity , a BMX track, confidence course, flying fox and abseiling wall. The Redwood shelter complete with gas BBQ, water,power and ablutions makes it ideal for large community picnics and events. The large park like features lends itself to tent camping with two ablutions facilities near by. You will be kept active using the climbing equipment, trampoline, basketball court, petanque court and a small ampitheatre during your stay. Outside the camp's northern boundary is the renowned Waipara riverbed where groups can go exploring, 4WD driving, boating/rafting/swimming at the man made aquatic playground.
